Create Wardrobe Storage Space
under StorageThere are ways you can go about giving yourself more storage space without actually buying a larger wardrobe (although that is a reasonable answer to the problem). If you’re crying out for a means of giving yourself more space to store your clothes and other valuables, you may consider a few of these little steps.
The first step is going to be a wrench for some people, particularly those who value every single one of their knick-knacks, what-nots and thingumy-bobs. You’ve got to declutter. Just get rid of anything you haven’t used in the last 12 months. It’s going to be a tough task if you’re a pack rat but the extra space you’re going to get out of it will be worth it.
Re-evealuate how your wardrobe is set up. Sometimes the way the wardrobe has been organized is not using the available space efficiently. Remove everything from the wardrobe and have a look at the set up. Can you get more hanging space in there if you make a few small adjustments. Perhaps you will be able to fit an extra shelf in. And while all the clothes have been removed, go through them and work out if they are all necessary.
You may have items stored in your wardrobe that could be better stored in some other kind of container such as under-bed storage, a closet in another room, the basement. If the storage space in your bedroom is at a premium then the clothes that make it into the wardrobe have to earn their stripes.
Sometimes the hard decisions have to be made and sometimes you have to take the plunge to buy additional storage space. Buying another wardrobe may be the last resort if space is already tight in your home.
